    Parental Voice

Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about Feniscowles Primary School.

As Parents and Carers, you can give Ofsted your views of our school at any time of the year using an online questionnaire called Parent View. Your views are really important in helping inspectors form a judgement about our school, and to help us know what is going well and what could be improved.

Please register using the link below.  Once your login has been activated, it only takes a few minutes to complete answers to 12 short questions on a variety of aspects such as bullying, the quality of teaching and level of homework.

    Our Most-Recent Parent Survey Feedback

Your views are important to us. You are always welcome to share your thoughts, feedback or questions with us at any time of the year.

Once per year, we send out a more formal parent survey to gather your feedback.

In the two tables below, you can find the responses to our most recent parent survey.

You can also see actions which school are taking to address these. As always, please do speak to us as soon as possible regarding any concerns as and when they arise! We have a list of who is best placed to help you resolve any concerns on our "About Us" tab titled Contact Details.

We'd like to thank all of our families who completed the survey. The results were very positive in all areas. The table does not include responses to all of the questions asked; we have included only responses where action was needed and subsequently taken.

What do you think the school does well?

Out of 162 responses to this question, 161 were overwhelmingly positive!
We wish we could share every comment but here are some of the highlights.

Supports children in all aspects of life, gives time to pupils who need a chat, a hug, emotional support etc...

I feel the teachers do a fab job at building relationships with parents, in order to ensure our children are fully supported, both in and out of school.

Strong SLT, care of my child, development of both personal and academic.

The teachers and support staff are exceptional.

Supporting with confidence and supporting with academic struggles. I know my child has the best support and guidance from the staff at the school.

Instilling school values, encouraging community/team feeling in class and celebrating each other, encouraging children to be themselves.

From my child's experience this year I find it hard to single out one thing as everything has been excellent in our experience. The school was very good in helping us understand how we could help further our child's education from home.

    Values- building well rounded children.

Feniscowles is an amazing school all around, you can see that from the smiles on the teacher & pupils faces on a daily basis. Feniscowles makes sure every pupil & their family feel welcome and understood. The support is incredible, I couldn’t wish for a better school for my children to be attending.

Responses were shared with our staff to promote their well-being and help them understand how valued they are by our school community.

They were also shared with our school governors.

What would you like to see school work on next?

Continue to improve outdoor provision within the Juniors.

I am happy with what the school is currently doing and haven’t had any issues.

    Nothing I can think of!

More opportunities within the arts, choir for year two, more arts/drama/music focus.

More information on what they will be learning in the year ahead - lessons for parents too in subjects such as maths and English so we understand what they are learning about.

    More charity fundraising

Rewarding children who consistently try hard.

    More educational school trips.

    • This academic year, we have commissioned Lancashire Dance Academy to teach Ballroom dancing to our year 6 pupils.

    • We have also commissioned "Made For Stage" to provide musical theatre lessons to all classes in year 2 and above.

    • We now have an annual art gallery organised by Miss Faulkner (our Art subject Leader)

    • We have created curriculum newsletters to share with you on Dojo at the start of each half term to help you know more about what the children are learning each half term.

    • We will also update our class  pages on the school website to make this more readily accessible.

    • This year, we are launching the Oscar Doyle Foundation: a charity to support learners with disabilities - named after our very own Oscar who left last year!

    • We have created new termly celebration certificates for all children who Strive for Excellence in their effort and behaviour.

    • We also award Dojo points for effort linked to our school value of endeavour.

    • We have created a yearly-overview school trip planner to bring-about a greater variety of trips across school.

The final box was for families to add any additional information that had not been covered by previous questions.

Again, there was an overwhelming sense of appreciation from our families and the comments were truly lovely to read!

My child has thrived this year with Mr Davidson, I have seen him come on leaps and bounds. Huge thank you for his relentless work with the children in the class!

I really enjoyed the art exhibition. I was thrilled to see the children exploring the work of a living female artist alongside some long established titans of the art world.

My daughter has progressed so much this year in all areas and that’s thanks to her loving being in Miss Barton’s class. She is a great teacher!

My son appears to be thriving at Feniscowles and Mrs Morgan is an incredible teacher who seems to know and understand each child individually! Thank you.

From someone who was absolutely dreading their child starting school I just want to say a big thank you. My son wakes each day with such excitement about going to school and all the exciting things he gets up to. I was filled with so much anxiety as a parent about this next chapter in his little life but since starting, I have felt completely supported as a parent and know my child is 100% loved and cherished whilst he's in the care of the EYFS team.

Mrs. Cooper and the entire Year 6 team are truly outstanding. They have provided incredible support to our family during a very challenging time, and we are immensely grateful. Teachers often don’t receive the recognition they deserve, but their dedication and hard work are remarkable. Having been part of Feniscowles for 14 years, we genuinely believe this is the best it has ever been, credit to everyone involved!

I am very happy with how my child is developing in Feniscowles. Academic, social and emotional development has improved considerably since joining Feniscowles.

Staff go above and beyond to support all children. The joy and love towards the children that comes from the teachers in infant assemblies is tangible. We feel very privileged for our daughter to be at this school. The academic progress she has made is phenomenal. Her confidence within herself has come on leaps and bounds and school is to thank for their huge contribution towards this. There is nowhere else I’d want my daughter to be! Thanks for absolutely everything you all do.

    Point to note
We want to be transparent about our parent survey and not just include all highlights.

167 families completed the survey and 4 families reported dissatisfaction with school:

    1 related to parent:teacher and tecaher:child relationships.
1 related to lack of forest school and out-of-classroom learning opportunities.
1 related to SEND (the case was actioned by the SEND Co and the family have since reported increased satisfaction)
1 family anonymously completed the survey and selected the lowest available response on every question - we have been unable to trace who this is and we would really encourage you to talk to us about improving the situation: if you read this message, please call us. We pride ourselves on being available for adults and any conversation can be had.
