We are very excited to be able to share with you details of how children and staff are now able to communicate during this time of self-isolation.
We will be making use of the wonderful learning platform that we have access to – Purple Mash.
Some of you may already be familiar with Purple Mash and have explored some of the many activities. If not, we would encourage you to do so in order to develop your child’s interests and independent learning skills.
Your child will already have been allocated login details – these were resent just before school finished but if you have any problem logging in, please contact the main school email address.
As a means of communication, we will be making use of two functions – 2Email and 2Blog.
2Email will allow individual messages to be sent to the class teacher.
2Blog is an opportunity to post messages that the whole class can see.
We have created a clear user guide for both 2Email and 2Blog which are located on this page.
Staff will endeavour to post a comment on the blog each working day and respond to your emails within two working days. This will usually happen during school hours.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to hearing from your child very soon!
Additional information for Reception parents
We have sent your login details via post or email – these should be with you in due course.
Once you receive your login details, you will be able to access the site straight away but if you have any problem logging in, please contact the main school email address (see above).
Although your child has not yet accessed Purple Mash, it is a very simple site to use. When you have logged in, there is a whole section aimed at Reception children – Mini Mash.
We would encourage you to explore this section with your child as there are lots of fun activities to do.
When sending emails and posting blogs, it is vital that we adhere to strict online safety guidelines. This is to ensure safeguarding of both our children and staff.
As a reminder, we have added a copy of our Acceptable Use Agreements which is signed by all parents.
In the unlikely event that a post/email is inappropriate or suggests that a child may be at risk, the message will be forwarded to Miss Hargreaves who will deal with the issue.
When your child received their Purple Mash login details, there was also a parent code. You can use this to register as a parent in the parent portal. You do this by visiting the Feniscowles Primary School Parent Portal homepage https://www.purplemash.com/sch/feniscowles and clicking 'Register as a parent'.
Just follow the simple steps in the registration process then check your email account you have used in the registration process to activate your parent portal account. You can link up to four adults to a single child using the parent code.
Once you have activated this, parents and carers can see all their child's learning activities on Purple Mash.
