This week Blackburn with Darwen has launched a new campaign to highlight our Healthy Relationships scheme in the borough.
It’s a seven-week, free course available to all parents living in Blackburn with Darwen – whether they’re still in a relationship or co-parenting.
While we all know that arguing is a normal part of everyday life, this programme is aimed at those who have unresolved conflict - which may impact on their children’s long-term mental health and future life chances.
In the groups, run at children’s centres across the area, our specially-trained staff will help them work on everything from communicating effectively to problem solving.
There’ll also be an emphasis on managing difficult situations, relationship skills and balancing family life while promoting personal learning, growth and self-awareness.
More than 100 couples have already taken part and there’s been really positive feedback – with one father describing it as ‘life-changing.’
