What is it ?
 
The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low income families who are currently known to be eligible for free school meals ( FSM ) in both mainstream and
non-mainstream settings, children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and any pupil who has a parent currently serving in the Armed Forces. Eligibility for the Pupil Premium has been extended to pupils who have been eligible for free school meals ( FSM ) at any point in the last 6 years.

Nature of Planned Support 2014 /15
 
The funding received from pupil premium has been allocated in the following ways:
 
  • Focussed ‘ Narrowing the Gap ‘ support for Free School Meal Pupils.
  • Increased teacher and teaching assistant support to develop reading skills throughout school.
  • Development and implementation of teacher and teaching assistant support to raise mathematical attainment.
  • Language for Life Consultant to help with the early identification, support and targeted intervention for groups and individuals with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. In addition, the Language for Life Consultant provided training for teachers and teaching assistants within school. This helped them to develop the relevant skills to enhance the teaching and learning of these identified children.
  • Variety of resources to support the above initiatives
